Best Mysterio encounter??

There are a lot of champions that work. It depends on what you need to counter, specifically.

I like to use King Groot since you can put those permanent armor breaks on him, disabling his poison immunity. Then you can just spam SP2s all day long. King Groot also can't be armor drained so Fish Bowl's SP2 doesn't do much. King Groot can't bypass the Illusion Gas that makes attacks have a chance to miss, but he does get more fury buffs whenever one of his attacks miss so you can use it to your advantage.

If you bring someone who is immune to poison, you can make Mysterio into somewhat of a noodle since that's where his big damage is. I like Scorpion for that strategy. While he does put damage-over-time debuffs on Mysterio (which can be a bad thing since Mysterio has that damage-reflection on his SP1), those don't really do any damage over time. They're mostly just there to explode into power sting damage whenever Mysterio throws a special attack. As such, I've never had much problem with using Scorpion against him.

Another counter you can bring in is someone who can bypass Miss. While he's not exactly my go-to Mysterio counter, Captain America (Sam Wilson) not only bypasses Miss but also deals extra damage whenever Miss fails to trigger (as long as you're Recon Scan is active).

Forgot one thing: the one thing that there isn't a specific counter for is his SP1 damage-reflection. The good news is that anyone can still deal with it. You just have to not hit him while that particular effect is active (unless you can defeat him before it ends).

Gas can't be gained while the helmet is cracked. No gas, no damage back or power drain or miss. Not sure about which effects he'd lose from the sp2.

The gases just add time to the effects. They still happen

Gas has nothing to do with his utility on specials. It just adds more duration. Breaking his helmet will just shorten his miss/damage reflection window
