    ik most will say herc but I took my Shang-Chi to rank 4 and i’ve been having a blast- i’d go with him

    If you buy the generic AG for 6* Herc is the choice.

    Honestly not a bad choice in the bunch.

    Hercules would be a dope choice, even unawakened. His standard damage output is so good that I absolutely wouldn't say that he needs to be awakened to rank him up. It's just that his awakened ability, when you get it, is probably the best in the game. However, if you want to keep him alive for long enough to not have to rely on it, a good way to do that is to give him more health and attack.

    I have him, Doom and Scorpion at r4 myself and they are pretty much neck and neck for me. I can't speak for the others specifically as r4s since I only have them as r3s, but all of them are on my shortlist for a rank-up in the future.
