Can’t help but feel like with 90% of people complaining about the matchmaking it’s a skill issue not a matchmaker issue. I personally have been UC-Paragon and have found most of my marches to be somewhat fair.

In UC or TB you have people which are not as expierienced and engaged as paragon players. In paragon you will not find people which dont know how to play. So from bronze 3 EVERY match is like you are playing for world championship

My only complaint about BG is that it is not fun. Not talking about bugs or matchmaking, just the nodes and the actual fights. Great rewards, for sure, but at my level I am not motivated by the rewards enough to play that much.

I don’t care about leaderboards and such. Just want to have fun. I love the PVP aspect of BG, but ever since they introduced tiers and hard nodes, BG has felt more like a PITA chore, so I avoid it. Got better things to do.

I enjoy BGs, however, some of the concerns are true. These are NOT MY concerns but in general -

    1. Some matchmaking is dodgy. I'm 14.5k account and have faced opponents as low as 11.5 and as high as 18.5, these were mismatches.
    2. Bugs. Disconnects and delays are pretty common resulting in bad champ selection or complete round/match loss
    3. Players at lower levels can progress much farther and faster than higher level accounts. In no other game can a lower rated team become champs/get to the top without facing the best competition.
    4. BGs need a super stable connection, slight delay and it's pretty much a loss.

Again, I totally enjoy BGs, the challenge, the rewards and the time spent in it.

The other day I played about 20 games to get out of G1 and it was fun, at times my own fault that resulted in a loss.

Last season I had an unbeaten run of 32 wins.

As someone that runs a main and an alt, I can probably agree with the general sentiment.
My main runs into monster accounts... because I've got a pretty monstrous main.
My alt runs into lower tier accounts. The difference is that you've got someone with a broader game knowledge and experience running a weaker account.

What's killing the game mode for me is the lockouts due to connection issues. The right bans and the right matchups are critical against the newer generation of champs. So, when I'm fighting with my main and it just randomly makes auto selections the RNG is much more punishing than on my alt which is generally fighting against a weaker roster with less counter dependent champs.

Bingo. And it’s documented over and over the path to gladiator circuit is way easier as a result. Evidence? The inevitable UC or cav post that gladiator circuit is way too hard and matchmaking needs fixed. All while large accounts can’t even sniff gladiators circuit.

Bottom line, I couldn’t care less about GC rewards. But I have zero interest in grinding for my life with 2 wins - loss - win- loss…and on and on in Bronze and silver for meager milestone rewards. Especially While lesser accounts with slightly better than average skill level can blast out milestones like arena.
