Why are alpha catalysts so far behind?

We have both basic and class catalysts that are up to Tier 6, yet Alpha catalysts stop at Tier 3 lol

Alpha catalyst are the "rare" part of rank up formula, of course will be harder to obtain

7* introduced Tier 4 Alpha Catalyst, there are Tier 5 Alpha catalyst images too, will be 6* Catalyst for sure.

Except that's not even an alpha catalyst. That's the special catalyst for the summoned symbiote.

Nope, that's an Alpha Catalyst, Symbiote catalyst are totally black.

Not necessarily because Alpha were more rare, but because they are not needed for many of the earlier rankups of lower rarity/Star champs.

For comparison, Class Cats (of each Tier) become used basically just 1 step beyond when their same-Tier equivalents of Basic Cats get bumped up.

Whereas, Alpha Cats begin to be needed many steps after that of Basic and Class Cats.
Tier-1 Alpha get used where Basic/Class ones are already up to Tiers 3 or 4.
So they will always be lagging behind in their Tier #.

As for pic above of (maybe) Tier-5 Alpha.
I would imagine the T5-Alpha would similar structure to T5 Basic and Class. The preview of 7*r3 showing T4-Alpha is same structure as other T4’s.

So maybe that pic above is an Alpha equivalent to the Symbiote Rankup cats.
Maybe that means our Symbiote is planned to advance even further sometime this year ?

Or it will have something to do with Ascension ??

Ngl I think ascension is kinda pointless now looking at things. Id be surprised if kabam still does it with all the relics and 7* being added to the game.
