Battlegrounds match making algorythm - Are you nuts?

Hello All, I just wanted to start a conversation to see if I am the only one who actually battling this issue or there are others too.

I know there are a lot of different problems around BG but this particular one really drives me crazy and makes me throw the phone away. I would like to start with the fact, that I am a fairly avarage summoner skill-wise. Besides that even though I made it till Paragon, my roster is really not stacked at all. (I am not doing AQ, AW and I am not in an alliance) Which means the depth of the roster is leaves a lot to be desired.

What I am experiencing and drives me crazy is that I am constantly matched with much much stronger rosters. The difference is pretty significant in all cases, I am always the underdog - except some pity matches where it's at least close to even - and this leads to 70-80% of the matches being lost. As mentioned, I am not MSD or KarateMike skill-wise, and even if I would be better, why am I constantly put up against rosters that in a different league?

My question would be, WHY? Why does this working like this? I know that Kabam wont lay out the algorythm that they are using as some would abuse it, but this killing the whole vibe of the game mode. I have almost 0 sense of success and not able to progress at all.
If the matchmaking is prestige based, I am def screwed. If it doesnt take into consideration the win/loss ratio, why is that? This supposed to be enjoyable fair challange, not like living hell.

Lastly, please dont give me the comments that get better and up my game... I am well aware of my limits, I am just wondering if others also expriencing the matchmaking being too brutal on them.

It's been fair for me. I have a deck of all r3+ and usually face decks around that. Occasionally have to fight much more stacked decks (16k+ prestige, 4m tbhr), and sometimes I win. Matchmaking isn't that bad, the weaker your roster is, the more trouble you will have as you progress in ranks. Circuit isn't designed for lower tiered players.

I accept and understand that about GC. I am not even aiming to get that high. The issue could be with me as stated :) I just wanted to see how others might see it on their end.

Based on observations from last season, the higher you climb in victory track, the less the game matches based on roster (top 30 champions) so noob accounts aren't getting destroyed in bronze while also preventing them from getting to gladiator circuit.

Once you've hit the wall, I would recommend building up your roster more and progressing your account.

Maybe you should try building a better roster. It seems like a good strategy.

Thank you Cap Obvious, really useful piece of advice!

Just like in any other competetive sport, you should play against all kinds of rosters not just "to your level" (you still compete for same rewards). With that being said, as many have already suggested, you should focus to expand and grow your roster when you come to the point that you can't keep going up any more.

Honestly you have a chance to face anyone on the tier you are on currently. That's how it is. Last time kabam tried based matchmaking people were abusing it. So not really much to be done here if you want to have a better result in battleground you need to have a good roster. That's how it is you should focus on moving forward in progressino to get better rewards till you can't progrss any further and then focus entirely on developing your roster there are other ways to get what you need
It's not really a problem it's how the game mode works

You have a profile of r4 champs and prestige over 14k. A lot of the difference you’re talking about is in sig levels, where there are often diminishing returns on investment, and in a handful of champs being 15% stronger because they’re one rank higher than yours.

The revised medal system gives you easy progression, especially early. If (again…IF) you’re pushing so hard that you’re only surrounded by sharks, it’s a mess of your own making. Give the slower players a bit of time to catch up and you’ll have more beatable opponents in the pool.
