Kindred counter?

Is there any character who can prevent getting rooted at all? Or will the only counter be that you get rooted and instantly throw a special to get out of it?

He inflicts a root passive, no one is immune to root so yes a special attack is the only way out. Or you can lower his ability accuracy so it doesn't activate at all.

With his root being passive, you can't use a cleanse champ or a shrugger, so you have to make sure you have a special available when he puts the passive on you. Don't try and knock him out with a special since it will activate after you finish your special attack.

To add to this, while he is not immune to root, Rintrah's abilities don't specify only his roots. So you should go unstoppable, apply a taunt, and if awakened regen on hits when rooted by kindred.
