You'd have to ban pretty much every player in a top alliance who has played the game for 5+ years. It's pretty obvious you are new but in the infancy of the game it was pretty much a requirement to share you login info in competitive alliance. Kt is just the one of the few to be man enough to admit it.
yep. 4-5 years ago it was normal/common to:
-finish your friend's quest -move people in aq -buy energy refills and revives from mercs back when year round trading was still around -fill the "alliance treasury" with loyalty, gold, and BCs, for AQ using mercs, especially since loyalty was rare and map 6 was expensive. mercs would be invited to the alliance, fill the stash then leave -mercing labyrinth -piloting AW
around 2019, community standards changed and people got good and the game's much better for it, but you can't hold people to old standards. i hope that if KT qualifies that kabam let's him in.
dont think so, there should be no exceptions in this matter, if they do that then whats the point for everything they say about TOS ?
you weren't around back then, huh? it was normal. developers don't want cheating and try discourage it but banning everyone, not just top competitors but everyone below them would have crushed their game, especially that early on. the community eventually started self-correcting and it's a much cleaner game now.
Which cheater in battlegrounds were you, that he pointed out?
Bruh. He broke tos. And you are saying not ban him beacuse he youtuber right?
dont waste your time bro, for some things they love to use "tos violation", but for others they celebrate and let it happen depending on who does it
There’s a difference between what someone did yesterday and what someone did several years ago. This isn’t murder. It would not be in good faith for them to retroactively ban him for those actions now, especially as he has spent the last few years actively fighting against it and trying to educate the community. Think.
I think that, at some point, you have to observe a statute of limitations. You can’t really let a guy spend years (and years) investing in an account and then ban him for (relatively minor) actions near the very beginning of the journey. But I think most of us know that, and this is about something else entirely…
There's no statute of limitations on cheating or violations of the TOS, nor should there be. However, no one gets banned based on anecdotal testimony alone, not even self-incriminating testimony. For the devs to ban KT1 for the infraction he is claiming he made, they would have to conduct research to confirm that violation. At this point this would be incredibly difficult and time consuming, if it was possible at all. The question then becomes, given the scale and degree of the infraction, including the potential and future harm to the game, is it worth it?
In my opinion, it isn't worth it. If KT1 admitted to hacking the servers without being detected and leaking player account information, that *would* be worth going back eight years of logs to try to confirm, and if so ban him (and possibly refer him for criminal prosecution). If he admitted to harassing players in global chat and driving them to quit the game out of disgust, that might be worth going back through eight years of chat logs to confirm. But if someone, say, gave KT1 an account from a retiring player, say, so he could take over a high prestige account back when dial up was still feasible internet access, I don't think that rises to the level of the kind of violation the developers would invest a lot of resources to track down.
Bottom line, I don't think Kabam really cares if someone took over someone else's account eight years ago, and I doubt if most other players care in general, assuming this wasn't part of some more wide ranging prohibited behavior. It has nothing to do with KT1 being a Youtuber and getting special treatment, if anything the opposite is true. No one would care about this if he wasn't a Youtuber making a video about it.
Listen, I'll be the first to admit someone repenting doesn't change their actions. However, it's not something going on currently. Is it wrong? Yes. Should he have been held responsible? Yes. Regardless of whether "everyone was doing it" or not. Is it feasible to punish them now? No.
I’m semi-agreeing with grounded wisdom… what a life…
But yeah from what I hear there is no serious allegation, it’s just people hating on him, so the op is stupid.

Of course not. Anyone here who played in the very beginning new what the environment was like. Now you’ve got these new players who want to go around pointing fingers at one of the most upstanding members of the community. Seatin makes a new F2P account and makes it to Paragon in a couple months and KT1 would do it quicker.
Man literally cut off his friend for joining TCN.
KT is literally the person Kabam should be hiring. As a man who’s renounced his former ways he’s clearly a man who wouldn’t sell his soul.
Also I bet the OP shares Netflix passwords. Straight to jail.
Then why not ban Bero Man too? He used to merc in the past and yet, there are people who want him to included in the Battlegrounds tournament. Why the Hypocrisy lol?
Why the hell do people not like kt? What did he do?
He made fun of Jax's shorts
That's a crime against humanity, but not technically a violation of the TOS.
Funny enough, Jax has so much goodwill that it didn’t land. Where is Jax by the way? Bring back Jax!
Jax was on vacation. He's back now, but Kabam doesn't just throw people back into the forums after more than a few days off without a reacclimation period to prevent some sort of aneurism.
I’m a fan of KT1 and subbed to his channel. You guys are nuts if you think he’s not an incredible player. I’ll still keep watching and liking his videos.

Can't tell if this is hating on KT1 or just trying to get a response from Kabam so they can have something to be mad about at Kabam
Pretty sure this was started by a salty player that got banned for breaking the rules recently and is upset that they know nothing about what may or may not have happened years ago.
@DNA3000 so dial up is no longer a feasible method of internet access? What does that mean for my AOL account?
The bad news is you're always going to be limited to 0.05Mb/sec. The good news is you can probably scrounge up enough free AoL CDs to cover your next fifty thousand years of service.
I'm all for 2nd chances, and to the best of my knowledge KT1 has been a good standing member of the community for at least 2-3 years.
I do think there should be some clarification though on "how long you have to be clean" or what offenses are ok after a certain amount of time (similar to say how moving offenses points work in the US)... and it should be a cut and dry rule that applies to everyone... whether you are a well liked person in the community, a member of the CCP, a kabam employee, or someone everyone seems to "love to hate".
If I had to say one thing though... for those who have a "questionable past"... putting up videos of others they suspect are breaking the rules is a bit of the pot calling the kettle black.

I disagree. In fact they might be the best people. Same reason government agencies hire elite hackers to work for them after they are finally caught after years and years of trying. Code dagoth figured out a way to cheat at the arena without even playing or being logged into the game. He simply told kabaams servers how many points he got in arena. I'm sure he would be much more efficient at catching cheaters than the person who kabaam hired seemingly a few years ago, who still goes through results manually to identify the cheaters.

I'm actually with the other Poster. You lose credibility. Not to mention no one can trust someone who turns on any side that suits them. Not really directed at KT, just the subject in general.
Bottom line for me is, follow the rules. I have a pretty low tolerance for people who cheat. It's one thing when Alliances were trading logins to move in War and AQ. It takes it up a notch when you're undercutting the game by offering fraudulent services (being a Merc). Another still when you're using a Mod. There are degrees of severity, but it's all cheating to me. I'm not on a podium about it. If someone stopped doing it, then that's respectable. I don't have a gold star for them, though. I've played for over 7 and half years without engaging in behavior like that. So have many, many other Players. People say that's how it was for Top Players. I say they were Top Players because they were breaking the rules.
And this is another reason why I don't spend a penny on this game. The whole "rules for thee but not for me" attitude..
KT should have been dealt with many years ago when he did the wrong things that he did.
I don't feel sorry for him at all hearing him explain himself away. He should have been banned and every account he didn't play or acquire ligitimately as per kabam's tos should have been shut down. But he got away with it. That's that. Him making these Own Up videos now embarass kabam more than him imo. Not that they care an iota, let's be honest.
I do watch some of KT's content which I find to be informative. But him as a player of this game? I rate very low. Not speaking of skills obv. I'd have respect for him if he had started a fresh account and taken it from there. It's like his whole Rank up video series. I never watch those coz A) I find those quite boring and again, I have no respect for his account. Not that he needs it either but since we're all throwing our 2 cents around here in the town square.
