Safeguard has been buffed...what was the point?

With the new change, Future Antman and presumably anyone else that does burst of damage during their attacks will no longer counter safeguard. I'm seriously questioning what was the point in changing this node as opposed to just making a new one?

    Nothing to see here people, node works the same as before it’s just a description update to specificy it’s only blocked hits and hits that suffer the cap. DOT, bursts of damage etc don’t suffer the cap and now the description reflects that.

    Pretty straightforward to test.

    So you want to explain why none of the disentegration bursts from FAM are dealing more damage than the damage cap?

    Those bursts are doing 386 while the cap is 193, so they're doing more than the cap and are probably just based on how much damage the special attack is doing.

    @magnus_xix my guess is there’s a weird interaction with ant man vs safeguard, and again my guess is that this isn’t actually an update to the node and he probably worked like this before.

    I tested a few people against safeguard right now, and for example Silk who has a burst of damage after sp1 (similar to future ant man) that doesn’t get reduced by the cap.

    Another thing I noticed is that Ant man’s burst is exactly double the damage cap 193 -> 386

    So maybe there’s two bursts of damage being capped at 1% and then shown on screen.

    I’ve asked the devs if they could clarify whether ant man worked like this before the update to safeguard description (and if there’s even been an update to safeguard’s functionality), and I asked if future ant man is supposed to work like this.

    I reported it, but a lot of bugs get reported so I’m not sure about a timeline

    LOL. They say "never say never", but I'm going to go ahead and say Kabam will never fix all of the AAR bugs in the game. No one's AAR-related effects, whether immunities to AAR effects or applying AAR effects, always works exactly as expected throughout the game, and it just gets worse when they fight each other.

    I dunno if it’s even possible to fix all them. The moment you make messing with important numbers a legitimate strat in your video game, you should expect players to mess with the numbers in ways you probably haven’t expected.
