Ascension question/stream vs website

So on stream it was said that you could ascend any champion regardless of rank or level. However, on the website it says only max ranked champions can be ascended?

    did they specifically say that on the stream?
    i’d be more inclined to trust up in either regard in this case

    Pretty sure on stream that any maxed champion could be ascended

    I noticed this as well and also saw at least 1 other post asking about this with no response. This discrepancy will become an issue if no clarification is provided because when it launches we will have no idea if the way it functions is intended behavior or another bug. Given recent events it is entirely reasonable to assume that it will not work correctly at launch.

    Why would you waste this valuable and expectedly rare material on a non-max champ? Maybe I can see using it on a 6sr4 champ.

    Doesn't take much thought process to realise someone could ascend a champ they're working on getting the resources to max rank when they can..

    Then i would say what they have written on the site is correct. The hierarchy needs to followed till max rank then give ascension gem. If you don't have them maxed then wait it out, that ascension gem won't be having expiry. And if we really want to ascend a champ, we will hope to max them out so vice versa works.

    Cavs/TB should have maxed 5* they are aiming to ascend. They needed to put a wait for maxed 6* as it is very powerful. Though i have maxed 6* Herc and maxed 5* Magik/Quake so no worries.

    I don't remember them specifically saying that. They did mention on stream it was for maxed champs.

    Unless Ascension is like a “Status” for a champ that essentially bumps up their current Rank's stats by 1 Rank, no matter what they are.

    Such as a 6*r4 can be made to look like a 6*r5, in case you are still short the Cats needed to take them to r5 yet.
    And even if not fully “Leveled up” yet within that rank. A Level-1 champ of one Rank would be equivalent to only a Level-1 champ of the next Rank higher.

    (**don't know if this is the case or not, but hypothesizing what could be meant if indeed it can be applied to any Rank/Level champ.)
