I would trust the banner on forums over the ingame timer

Whenever there has been movement to the start date of AW, this War Season Tab in game is often the last thing to actually get changed (or, at least, changes aren’t done until some time well after they had actually announced the real start).
Well, also the AW Solo Points 4-week Objective, that also automatically starts prior to later being taken down and restarted correctly later on.

But also, they said the new date was not even guaranteed.

Don’t worry, it is NOT starting on the 9th.
