Act 4 champions not updated to 3* Defenders (ACT 4.4.4)

When I enter 4.4.4 I am confronted with the old 5* defenders with 400% attack and 600% health. When I preview the chapter I see the updated 3* defenders. It is only when I begin the quest that I am facing the old 5* defenders. This does not appear to be a visual glitch as fights are significantly harder due to the increased stats of the 5* defenders, compared to the 3*s that should be there. I have restarted the quest, restarted the game, deleted and reinstalled the game, played the game on a separate device, and played the previous quest 4.4.3 (which I had already done and which had all the 3* champs instead of 5* champs) with nothing rectifying this issue. (It may be worth noting that I have not previously completed 4.4.4 and I was in the middle of a run of 4.4.4 when the updates to Act 4 and 5 took place.) I am playing on both a latest edition iPad Pro 12.9 and an iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.6.
