Issue with war rankings?

I noticed a couple of alliances that have very low war rating and are actually in plat 3. Based on my calculations, it is not possible for these alliances to get these many points.
How is this possible?

Those are 2 (of 3) teams that as of last couple wars were Plat 2/3.
Started out season at top (unknown why still), and each war has lost ground because of their correctly lower WR / Tier / Multiplier == lower points.
So now they are down to Plat-4 evidently.

They ended up in p3 and my alliance had to be content with p4 rewards. Thanks to kabam for not doing anything about the rankings
