Missing Defence placement

Just logged in to find 2 of our bg2 members whole defence is missing from the map. Nobody has edited anything, nothing has been changed since the last war.
Coming off 3 wins so far this season after lots of effort, this is a kick in the teeth and giving away 10 full Attack Bonus.
Has anybody else had this issue?

Also to add to this we are on the t2 map when we are only tier 3 and there’s over 100 point difference in war rating with the alliance we matched

Were you already on EXPERT map for prior wars, and did they have defense in place for those wars (on Expert) previously ?

Or, if you just advanced to Expert, maybe they had not setup any defenders for the UP TIER DIFFICULTY MAP, and only had defenders in place for what was previously your current Tier Map (below Expert) ??

Yeah we’ve just realised that. They hadn’t put down for expert map, but we aren’t tier 1-2 so we didn’t think it would be a problem. Why would we suddenly have to do a tier 2 map but still get the tier 3 bonus multiplier. It’s stupid.
The persistent placement is stupid too, if we choose to change our defence round as we advance tiers then let us do that, why place for 3 different difficulties.

I am facing the same problem. Ten people have placed defenders in bg 1 but as you can see from the screenshot below, entire rows appear empty when i try to rearrange defenders.

I tried checking if they had put the defenders in another tier map by mistake but couldnt find it there..not sure what to do because these defenders magically appear during the attack phase in empty spots. It messes up the placement completely because 6r5 and 7r1 defenders show up at the lowest point nodes.

@Ansh_A , that is when people have JOINED their Defense (chosen a defense 5), but did NOT actually place them onto map (for the particular Tier Map you ended up playing on.
Which, in advance, you can see anyone who has done that, because they won’t have a node # next to those defenders names in the 10x5 roster, and you can try to contact them before attack to tell them to place them onto nodes on the maps.
What game does (and actually has always done in that case) is upon matchmaking the game just assigns those “committed” defenders to some open nodes.

As opposed to having NOT even “joined/committed” any defenders at all for a particular Map/Tier (like OP situation when they got matched into a higher Tier map than normal for that war).
*of which, back to their situation, even if your WR based Tier hasn’t moved you up a tier, you can still potentially get matched against a team just in the other side of the Tier/Map boundary from you (you Tier 3, them Tier 2) and game randomly flips a coin to see which COMMON MAP/TIER you will play that war on. Even though you will each receive your OWN Multiplier.

Thanks, much appreciated. Was so confused on what is happening, i kept restarting the game hoping that the glitch goes away.

Taken the case of people who have failed to place defenders on the map.

@Kabam Miike , a tutorial for the persistent placement is a dire need. We can practically write off the last 3 wars because of this mistake and it was not intentional but ignorance of the alliance team. Even in the second season, we are seeing mistakes people are making in understanding hoe the new format works.
