Too many news sources?

Idk, maybe I am just an idiot, that's very much a possibility, but am I the only one who feels like there are just too many information sources?

We have:
Forums
MCoC website
Streams
Twitter
and I dunno if there isn't sth more?

Personally, I don't have time to spend hours watching streams on a friday night. So I was happy with seeing a writeup on the webpage. But the current situation? I have 0 idea what Necropolis is. I never saw any announcement, where is it? Can't find it on forums nor the web (again: might just be my mistake). And now I learnt about an upcoming Twitch stream, that was announced on X, which was shared onto Reddit by a random user.

So really, am I just an old dog, or does anyone else feel the same?

Forums are for official threads
MCoC website is for collecting weekly celebration crystal
Twitch streams are the only source for livestream on upcoming updates (Unless you want extra commentary)
Twitter is for leaks
YT is for youtubers to discuss stuff on what's going on.

So twitch and forums are best source. But follow twitch first as they might miss stuff on their threads.

If you are very casual, follow richtheman for generic updates. KT1 does analysis as well but that's more advanced.

Don’t forget the awful trello board for bugs that was announced one year ago here on the forums, is rarely updated or accurate, and hasnt been mentioned in game once.

To be informed i only use forum (website only for claim crystals) and some youtubers. When there is an important announcement all the youtubers cover them.

It depends on what kind of player you are and what kind of news you want.

Subscribe to the following youtubers depending on what type of player you are.

Prof hoff- false news, incorrect news, participation trophy type of player. But a just have fun with friends type of atmosphere.

Rich the man - accurate, too much unneeded detail, wooden and laconic delivery, need to be free 2 play or be ok with him telling you he is ftp at least 5 times every video

Kt1- highly knowledgeable, highly skilled. Information useful for all but really meant for the highest skilled and competitive players. Not really for those who get their feelings hurt easy.

just follow the forums. And if you wanna know about necropolis, just search "Necropolis" there's several threads on it.

I don't know why so many people are disagreeing with you.

I'm someone who DOES check the forum frequently, I enjoy it. And I follow MCOC on Twitter and Instagram.

But I do agree that if there's not "too many" news sources, the game has reached a point where content is "too confusing or difficult to understand" that you NEED to use outside sources for information.

I can't imagine a person just playing the game, reading in-game messages and announcements, and having ANY idea what's going on.

We probably won't see a writeup until it is closer to release. The battlerealm brawl stream was more of a teaser than getting a lot of info.

My experience is that people get as much information as they invest in. Some people just read in-game messages, some don't even do that. They're usually quite happy with that. They log in and play, and that's about it.
There are other avenues for information, and the Forum isn't the only main source. Its primary purpose after all, is for us to discuss the game.
I don't think there's such thing as too much. If people want to stay on top of every bit of information that comes out, then they put the effort in. If not, things make it around eventually.

I don't think there's such thing as too much. If people want to stay on top of every bit of information that comes out, then they put the effort in. If not, things make it around eventually.

While this is true, I think my main point is that the game has reached a point where it’s so complex that it’s NECESSARY to do what feels like tons and tons of research.

That is neither good nor bad. It is what it is. But man do I sometimes feel like I’m spending more time learning about the game than I do playing it.

The MCOC webpages is more than just the Webstore. It has the patch notes present and past. All the champion spotlights are there and other news and announcements are there as well.

I am with you on this . We need a one stop shop. All have all news over all sources don't scatter.

We don't have more than a quick look at necropolis currently. There's a stream tomorrow that will go into more detail, and I'll have a summary uploaded here shortly after it's done.
