If you're cheating in Necropolis and dying dozens of times, you haven't failed at MCOC, you've failed at life completely.
Maybe there’s a cheater purposely dying ~60 times per run. Not sure what metrics Kabam use to detect cheating but that’s something I might do, if I were of that persuasion.

I tried 5* Aegon in AQ, his damage made me cry plus I'm planning for 100% so why not wait till Banquet 2 Abyss. If not, then 5*.

How many summoners jumped in with R4 Aegon’s and unitman synergies with no history of completing Everest content? There would be no incentive to rush before 8.4. Everyone of those accounts would be trying to max Aegon or chasing Shuri/Wong as 7 stars. Road to the crypt provided the incentive to plow through now… not sure the death totals would be what you suggest by Jan 15th otherwise

The whole point of the Road to the Crypt thing was to make light of the fact that some people were going to sail through it, and some were going to struggle. Road to the Crypt flips that on its head and says even if you are going to struggle, there is a way in which you can contribute to the community as a whole, or at least the subset of the community that tackles Everest content soon after release. In fact, you can claim to have contributed more than the players who typically do this content with far more ease.
No one is riding on the coattails of anyone else. If anything, the players who ordinarily blast through this content with far less expenditure than most are only getting the rewards they are getting from RttC because of the players who ordinarily struggle far more, or who would otherwise not even bother. It is supposed to be fun, and bring in more players to the excitement of the initial rush of Everest release. Saying that some players are riding on the coattails of other players who are "actually putting in the time and effort" is literally contradicting the spirit of the event. That kind of spirit or attitude would preclude having a Road to the Crypt at all.
If you believe players should only get what their own effort deserves, the Necropolis itself does that. There's no need for a Road to the Crypt. I agree with Jefechuta; this is exactly like someone asking for MVP rewards in alliance war, or asking for more AQ rewards because they did the harder path. The only reason we have alliances at all is to create small communities of players who support each other, to form connections with players in a game that has so many players it is impossible to really know them all in general. If someone's attitude is their alliance mates are just riding on their coattails, they are in the wrong alliance. And if someone believes some of the players we're trying to connect to with the Road to the Crypt are just riding on the coattails of the more dedicated Necropolis runners, they've lost sight of the community building that event is trying to achieve.

I can reverse this and say karatemike, msd and others are coat tailing since their exploration are less deaths than many that ran 1 path. What a dumb way to be complacent on a reward that wants the community to come together.
