Cassie vs Sassy w/ maxed despair

As I’m an idiot… Can anyone help me understand why Sassy still regen with 40+ debuffs on him? I have maxed Despair. His info says if healing is reversed then it’s cancelled but he was still healing. I have the video if it’s not too large to post here. Thanks in advance
