Rank up 6*?

I left the game like 2 years ago (lost my old account), i don't remember exactly but back in the day there wasn't 7*, i came back some days ago, a week ago i was uncollected at my current account and i just got thronebreaker, to be honest is way way easier than before

My current roster is
5* r5 Hercules
5* r5 Ghost
5* r5 Nick Fury
6* r2 Scorpion

I haven't rank any other champ, my others 5* aren't even r3 lol, so my question is, is still worth ranking up those 6* that already exists as 7*? i know i need to rank some other 6* that aren't as a 7* or for progression but are they worth it?

I just became a Paragon & I would suggest ranking up only the top 6*, the one we know they won't be released as 7* any time soon & do need high sig, like Herc, Ghost, Omega Red, Aegon, etc.
However, if you are stuck & have to rank up a certain champ to proceed with your progress, then go for it.
