BG - Void debuffs not working

Battlegrounds match - Void vs Absorbing Man - none of voids debuffs were generating any power gain the entire match. Arent they supposed to? I dont think absorbing man has anything that should give him immunity to these. What am i missing, or is it a bug?

Void’s debuffs aren’t damaging effects. Void is dealing direct damage while the opponent has debuffs on them. It doesn’t count for polka dot power

i half wondered that, but he dealt damage and gained power in prior matchups in this meta, which made this really confusing

There’s absolutely no scenario where void would gain power in this meta through nodes or his own abilities. You’re misremembering something

How about an opponent running suicides ?
And they were just assuming it had been because of using Void (instead of it being something about their opponent) ?

That is entirely possible. Also why I gave myself the plausible deniability with “through nodes or his own abilities” lol
