Quick and dirty:
Would it be better to only receive 1 notification for new messages per thread?
If you bookmark a couple of forum threads and some of them are quite active, you end up with tons of notifications and have no real way of remembering where you left the discussion… also, of the 68 notification, 67 might be from one very active thread, while that 1 notification for another thread gets totally buried…
Other forums have a system where you get the notification: „XYZ has posted on your bookmarked thread. There may have been more messages after that.“ and only once you visit that thread, you start receiving notifications for further messages…
