What am i missing? i used a special attack to dash backward when Thanos dashed forward and his first basic hit missed me as planned and i punished with an special attack. Does that not count as an intercept?

Don't listen to the other guy, you can absolutely have a special intercept count.

That said, that's a Venompool SP2 standard special intercept. The incredibly generous window Herc special intercept won't cut it. You need to have the special hit while they're still carrying out their dash attack.

I haven’t had a special intercept count yet, but that could be a skill issue.

yeah could be a timing issue - it probably only counts as an intercept if you hit *during* the dash, if there’s too much of a delay between the dash whiffing and the first hit of the special landing it wouldn’t count as an intercept.

What you’re doing is not an intercept. For some reason Herc “Special intercept” mechanic allows you to play like that, but for all other purposes making the opponent “miss” an attack then throwing the special right away is not a true special intercept, it doesn’t count for black panther of other intercept based champs.

To pull off an actual special intercept you have to essentially dash back, throw off the special, and hope they dash in as you throw the special. (Or you can react quickly once you see them dash in). These do count towards the intercept target when I do this with Abs Man it works and if they didn’t dash in its unblockable anyways.

I don’t know why Hercs special intercept is different from a true intercept, I don’t know if it’s a bug or intended, but that technique does not count
