Battlegrounds Season 15 Feedback From Ye Above Average Paragon Player

This was perhaps the most stressful season of Battlegrounds by far for me since it's inception. I have made Gladiators Circuit all but one season since its inception (last season). Over the last couple seasons I had gradually had less and less time to play BGs, which was resultant from both personal life issues but also from the huge influx of new content that Kabam has rolled out. We all have personal life outside of the game, and personally I love the fact that Kabam has rolled out a ton of content for us to play. We've been asking for it for a long time - ask and you shall receive. It's really the first time for me that I've legitimately felt like I cannot keep up with everything, and I don't think that's a bad problem to have. The game is evolving in a way where you need to pick and choose where you want to focus. That's all fine, and I'm OK with that direction. Variety is the spice of life.
This season in BGs, I struggled big time. Still trying to put my finger on all the reasons why, but tapping into my self awareness, I can state the following points from my personal experience:
1) Missing out on GC last season caused me to start in in Platinum II this season.
This was expected. But, the impact of those extra two tiers down (i.e. tying together multiple wins without victory shields) resulted in more matches. Not a huge deal.
2) Learning Curve with the Meta
Pretty simple on paper. Gain a bar of power, gain a power sting charge. Intercept to pass it off. Or suck up the damage and fire away. Something so simple was so difficult this season. Skill attackers were obviously very niche in this meta with the ability to purify debuffs with combo meter, but something felt different this go. Again, not pointing fingers, but my personal experience with the AI this season was strange. I saw lots of passive defense, backdraft intercepts, and perhaps most annoying of all, a strange knack for throwing LOTS of heavy attacks. Maybe it's just me, but intercepting the AI this season felt different.
3) Summoner Decks are Getting Out of Hand
Again, could be just a me problem as a Paragon player. But damn. This is the first season where I really felt outgunned. Seemed like 90% of the decks I faced had Maestro, Jessica Jones, Archangel, Torch, blah blah. Prior to this season, I used to feel like I could effectively "turn off" the "cheap shot" attackers/defenders with my 3 bans. I don't think that's the case anymore. It is feeling to me like the bans help turn off the biggest pain points in someone's deck, but there are still a lot of "newer" champions in here with more complex kits overall. If you ask me, BGs is getting more difficult as time goes on due to the increasingly complex nature of champion kits. Maybe it's just me.
Anyways, I made GC last night after a lot of headbanging, but thought I'd share my experience, as I felt that this season of BGs was the most stressful for me since it's inception. To me, it feels like BGs will get harder and harder every month as champion rosters grow and new champions roll out. Perhaps GC is just harder to get to now in general.

You’re right about banning the 3 pain points. But now there’s 4-10 lol. I have to pray they don’t get to draft the op defender.
But you are right, in good old days 3 bans were enough for a fair match at paragon level. Now the high tier accounts are out of control.
