Champ stuck in finished AW, can't use him in quest

The AW is over for this day (got the rewards), but when I try to use Bishop in AQ it says it's being used in AW. I should be able to use him since there's no AW attack phase, right?

Is Bishop one of your Attackers, or Defenders ?

Defenders count as being in AW 24/7 as part of Persistent Defense.
That includes all/any different defenders from each of the 3 Potential Tier Defense Maps available to you.
