Shatter Tokens

I just wrapped up AW Showcase and I am aiming to get black cat from the loyalty crystal so I will be saving the shatter tokens for that. However it made me wonder if other people prefer the basic 7* shards. Thoughts?

    You want to get a character from the loyalty pool > get the shatters
    You want to get a character from the basic pool > get the 7* shards
