I need advice - I'm wracked with indecision...

I am Paragon and now have 13 7* champions at rank 1, and have enough resources to take one of them to r2. I have some decent 7*s (Photon, Bishop, Sunspot, Titania), but I'm wondering if I should use those resources to get a couple more 6*s to r5. Currently my only r5 is Scorpion, and I was thinking of taking Hercules, Abs, Hulkling and/or Doom to r5.

I don't foresee getting enough materials any time soon to get 2 r3 7*s, so aside from big spending, I think the only way I will get to Valiant is if I can do Necropolis. So for that, would it be smarter to get two r5 6*s, or take one of my 7*s to r2?

Hope all of that makes sense, and thanks for any thoughts.

    Depends on your six stars. If you can take Kate and Shuri to r5, you might want to do that and go run necropolis. The reward spread between paragon and valiant is so dramatic, the best thing to do is try to get there quickly.

    as @dee_jay5 said, the game is moving toward 7* rapidly (already here and past, depending on which modes you play, and at which level you want to perform).
    6* ain't obsolete, but you'd be better served only ranking those that fill a specific hole in your roster (immunity, power control), or someone they are HIGHLY unlikely to 7* any time soon. or where the sig level makes/ breaks the character.

    If you’re good with Titania, there’s so much ground she can cover. If you’re not, watch some videos and try to get better with her. I’d favor R2 an all-around banger like her and see how far she can carry you.

    Herc is admittedly great, but he’s not your ticket for Necro. If there’s Story you haven’t done, I’d concentrate on that with either him or Titania.

    Without spending, you still need to at least do a single path of Necropolis - though that might change with 4 July deals.

    As I'm quoted above, if one or two R5 6*s will get you through Act 8 and/or Necropolis, then do that. If it's all more rounded champs, then 7* is a better use of resources.

    Also Exploration of each part of Act 8 gives 6* rankup gems so you can utilise those on the way.

    FWIW I'm Valiant from Exploring Act 8 and a single path of Necropolis, I have a grand total of 2 R5 6* Champs - only 1 was ranked up with catalysts.

    Use regular catalysts on 7* and use r5 gems on 6*. Unless it's a 6* that you know for sure won't be a 7* anytime soon like Hercules. Then again, r5 gems are becoming somewhat common now. Personally I'd just use gems on 6* and catalysts on 7*

    A great 6* is better than a mediocre 7* and will allow you to earn rewards easier while you build your 7* roster.

    The trap we fall into is ignoring lower rarities as soon as the "next big thing" arrives which hurts roster progression.

    I am not far off my 4th 7r3, and I'll still take a 6* to r5 if it's warranted (hulkling, last level up)

    I'm in the same boat. Only one 7r2 and 0 6r5. The hard part are getting class cats. I'd rather put those towards 7* and r5 using gems.

    i'd say investing on other 6 star r5 is still worth it. Some champs like hercules, doom and hulkling will still be viable even if 7 star rank 3 are more and more common (i'd prefer a r5 ascended hulkling over plenty of 7r3s in a draft). Doom will still be a menace outside of battlegrounds game mode, i still use him whenever i need to power control a fight
