Onslaught vs debuff immune

So if I'm not mistaken, onslaught is supposed to apply passives if his debuffs are purified or prevented due to debuff immunity.
I was playing with him during the spring of sorrow iron fist fight and his parries weren't triggering. Is that a known bug, new bug or am i interpreting it wrong?

Reminder the spring of sorrow fight iron fist is debuff immune. Not stun immune.

    hes not immune to debuffs .. he "cannot be inflicted with any debuffs". semantics strike again. hes not immune to parry stun. he cant be inflicted with a parry stun. apparently theres a difference
