Is the onslaught extra defensive when you use deathless king groot?

I was completing my objective for the Spring of Sorrow event and used Longshot, Hercules, and photon for my objective. As I was advancing to the deathless fight, I noticed that onslaught was extra defensive, would not throw specials and walk to your champion, and a lot more. And yes, I am not just talking about 1 fight, but more than 15 and it was the same thing. Is there something I am not understanding about this or was I lucky in terms of AI while completing the first 3 objectives?

Size difference does affect ai to some degree. Not to mention DKG is big and clunky

Keep everything aside, but why would you use longshot against onslaught?

I don't know if it is true or not, but the AI behavior could be in response to it evaluating what state your Champion is in (kind of like how a Player would wait out a Defender's Unstoppable buff). Could be something like 'IF(ATTACKER,BUFFs),THEN(ATTACK-LESS).'

Comparing my experience of CapIW vs DKG, I found the AI while using CapIW much more consistent compared to the AI when using DKG. I personally am theorizing that this is because DKG has Fury buffs, and the AI is responding to that 'attacker beneficial state' by playing more defensively. [Note: The AI overall does seem to have more shallow intercept and dex'ing abilities compared to other AI; I am just saying that this theory could be on top of the more difficult AI).

Idk when I used herc and Shang his ai seemed mostly normal for an onslaught then I switched to photon and he did a complete 180. With dkg the ai was bad but not nearly as garbage as with photon.

I had a good ai with photon, also she was able to parry so it didn't fel worse.

    DKG Ai was absolute bs

I was running cides so I avoided parrying with photon, but when I wouldn’t, he would. What I hate the most about his ai is no amount of skill is gonna be able to manage it consistently. Manage it better maybe, but still not consistently. If he really wants to ruin your run, he will. End of story.

I definitely saw the same thing and commented as such on my debrief of my runs. Could have been observational bias as DKG takes forever to build up to a point where he can effectively damage Onslaught, so one mistake and you have to start over. Photon and Shang were able to ramp up much more quickly.

That said, I don’t think it was. AI was much more defensive and was much better at his special intercepts when I used DKG. Made the fight super paintful.
