I'm totally confused with this box , anyone tell me about this murder Box

One thing that happens is when you click to use...then will appear to choose the First number "7", but after It wont refresh.

You will need to go to another game screen, it will refresh ,so you can put all other numbers.

How do I "use" the murder box???
When I choose the murder box from my inventory, I get to choose one from 0 - 9.
Then I get to choose another murder box from 0-9 again.
Please help.
The code is 70345 - so pick 7 first, then 0, then 3...etc

So it will be 0 to 25 indicating A to Z

D - 3rd index

S - S looks like 5

Hey, so I was the one who originally figured this solution out, so since you’re curious I’ll walk you through my train of thought here.

Prior to the hint announcement I had thought about how the happy and sad faces worked with their associated numbers, and had a theory that the happy faces were the numbers in the code, while the corresponding sad faces were the index for the location of the number in the code. So, for example, hint 2 was a happy 7, and a sad 1, which would correspond to the code having a 7 in position 1. Now, prior to the hint announcement, the numbers we had were bugged and incorrect, but once it was fixed if we followed that pattern then the code had to be 7 _ _ 4 5.

From there, I used the hint given in the discord and thought of HADES as a 5 letter word for “the abode for the dead.” @21Eggatron gave me the idea of converting the word into numbers, where H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, A is the 1st, etc. When I did that though, I realized 2 issues. First was that none of it matched with my prior theory of the happy and sad faces, and second was that S couldn’t be represented by a single number that way. However, the numbers for the rest were only one off, so if I assumed a programmer who counts from 0 created this puzzle, then it would fit, and the S would be represented with a 5, which sorta looks like it. Kinda weak reasoning, but I decided to try it just in case, it probably wouldn’t be the right code but who knows! Lo and behold, it worked. At that point I helped Eggatron finish cracking it himself and then we started dropping hints in the discord to help the rest of the community figure it out. Asphyxia was the first person in the main discord to solve it with our hints, and from there it spread.

The way we found the SH3OL solution was from Kabam ShovelDad, the creator of the puzzle.

I had thought more about it yesterday (but didn’t come back here), and not sure if there was an original mistake made or not.
But my thought was that different players got DIFFERENT positioned clues, even from the same week.

So seemed like there were potentially two different sets (corresponding Smiley/Frown pair) of clues that were given out to DIFFERENT PEOPLE for the same week.

So where someone said they got a Smiley face of one number for Week 1 clue, and someone else said they got a Frown face (yes, seems to be the POSITION clue) with a number, but their was NOT from the same corresponding Week 1 set as that first persons Smiley was for.

So looking at just people who provided BOTH their Smiley AND their Frown for a given week, they did seem to line up with being a correct Number and Position.

So some people just got different POSITION based pair of clues than others, on the same week.

I think that's how we got a 3 versus a 7 listed by some people (or at least one person), even though most others were providing different numbers during those weeks.

The sample size was a little too small in just the couple main threads up on Forum here.
Was there a more comprehensive list on Discord (or Ally chats) ? That maybe lends support to this ?

Like some people got #7 (smile) on position 1 (frown) during 2nd week, while others got the #4 (smile) on position 4 (frown) during that same week ??

Interesting, a few days ago I searched that term in both Google and Duck Duck Go (a popular private does-not-track search site, in case people don’t know about it).

Google pulled up a bunch of stuff including Hades, a music group, crossword puzzle clues, etc. and eventually got down to a result that included SHEOL.

While Duck Duck Go highlighted SHEOL right at the VERY TOP of their results, lol.

(Did it again today and Google also lists it at top now, maybe because of so many MCOC people doing that search)

And everyone has NOT been getting the same position clue as everyone else every week.
(thus why we have all 5 clues provided by different people as early as last week)

That should have to be the REAL way to unlock a puzzle box.

You should have to first USE the Box, then takes you back to Inventory (or at least the subset of Inventory that contains just the Clues).
Then you should have to USE your Clues that you OWN, 1 at a time, in order.

And the subset of Clues would include BOTH your Smiley, AND your Frowny face clues.
So that if you attempt to use a Frowney during that process, the answer would be wrong and the Box would not unlock.

So if you missed a Smiley week clue, you'd be out of luck, lol.

But still i havent received my murderbox and im missing my rewards. If anyone can help, etc it would be much appreciated!

What do you mean “2nd Murder Box” ??

Do you mean after you *USE* it, and try an INCORRECT CODE, it will give you the Murder Box back into Inventory again. (and did you NOT get it back ?)

Or do you mean you are missing some of the Clues (Smiley or Frowny face items) ? You did not do some of the Weekly Objectives or the Weekly Side Quest.

A complete (and correct) 5-digit code ? Like what has been provided by people up here is the correct 5-digit code ??

Or, you used the Murder Box, entered just the FIRST DIGIT (which, fyi, may take going back to Home Screen or such in game before the game kick's into continuing to ask for the rest of the 4 digits). So maybe that is what is wrong. (same as some “Selector Item” choices for things, sometimes doesn’t automatically popup right away, takes a bit, or potentially even a restart of game, before selector pops up)

Or did you enter 5 digits, but it was incorrect ? That should have provided you with a silly little saying coming up on screen, and would have given your Murder Box back to you.

If you entered a CORRECT 5-digit code, and got the correct rewards, then there is NO second Box. Other people might have just been referring to getting another CLUE item.

Yes, i put correct code and got some rewards. I dont remember what rewards exactly. Oh jesus christ this thing is drilling my brains.. 🤣

Do we get to put correct code once and thats it? Then the murder box disappears forever? If thats the case, then im ok.

**Final Week-5

So this week, the Clue does NOT swap between Code # and Smiley (when “used”).

Yes, it still gives you your Week-5 CODE #, but…

It swaps between your final Code # (remember, the order you were receiving them each week may have been different for different people each week), and instead of a Face it is swapping into a 5-Digit # this time.

But that is NOT the code itself, it is the PLACEMENTS for each week, that match your Code #’s you got each week.

So, provided you did SQ each week and got 4 prior Frown faces until now, you’ll see the first 4 numbers in that 5-digit number are the same as all your other Frowney face items.
(in my case below, I forgot week-2 side quest, so never got the POSITION/Frown clue that would have been (1) that week, just the code # 7 itself).

So my final week-5 CODE # is 3 (the other side of the 5-digit item shown) and the 5th number in that clue is 3. Which means my final 5th week CODE # is 3, and it is in Code POSITION 3.

In all, that amounts to the CODE to enter into the box of..
70345 (mentioned earlier)
