With the new saga about to start and with the expansion of bans in top tier of alliance war from 3 to 5 (which requires a lot of rankups to deal with more potential bans) it may be time to look at a war season reward update as well.
Every saga requires a lot of new rankups, and this investment of resources at this point isn’t really covered by war season rewards even for top placements.
War season rewards have started to lag behind BGs and even raids by now.
For comparison, t4a rewards for top alliance rank placements (it scales down in the same proportion) in alliance war vs BGs vs raids:
Top 1: war 57k, BGs 85.5k, raids 85.5k
Top 2: war 45k, BGs 64.1k, raids 71.25k
Top 3: war 36.48k, BGs 64.1k, raids 71.25k
Top 4: war 28.5k, BGs 64.1k, raids 71.25k
Top 5: war 28.5k, BGs 64.1k, raids 71.25k
Top 10: war 28.5k, BGs 42.75k, raids 57k
Top 20: war 22.8k, BGs 34.2k, raids 28.5k
BG and raid rewards are roughly 1.5 times better than war rewards for the same ranks. And the amount of effort isn’t nearly the same, wars require a huge investment of time and preparation, there’s a reason a war lasts 2 days.
An alliance can go out of their way to place high in alliance war and still get way less in t4a than an alliance that pushes prestige instead and gets a higher rank in raids, or puts in more points in BGs and gets a higher rank in BGs. That kills motivation to play competitive war for a lot of players. Higher rewards can be obtained with less effort in other game modes.
The current level of war season rewards doesn’t seem quite right with the amount of effort, resources and planning required to place high (relatively high) in alliance war. Serious war competition means spending on boosts, on rankups, offers to get new champs etc.
It would be right and timely to bring the level of war rewards closer to BGs and raids to make alliance war participation worth the effort.
P.S. will there be a new 7* champ instead of Scarlet Witch for top 10 placement in alliance war? Nothing was mentioned about it, and with a new saga a different 7* would make sense
