    There are definitely a couple items that should be able to be converted into a lesser resource (that isn't just a couple gold) once you're unable to use them... but I'm not sure if 6* awakening gems fit the bill. Inevitably, you'll get less and less of them while we move on to higher tiers and, as more champs come out, I suspect you'll be happy to have those in reserve.

    You'd be surprised how quickly all of your champions become awakened
    I've just pulled 3 guys from features that I insta awakened and have 9 gems left. But if he has nearly 30 surely he has someone.
