alliance war node confusion

so i'm confused do the nodes change for alliance war as the maps get harder? or how does that work? cause i was looking up info for which nodes to place champs and some ppl would say oh out this champ here on node # that node is and i would go look and that node was something different

There are different levels of maps and they change based on your tier. And some nodes can also change in potency depending on tier. Most people referring to ideal defense placement are referring to top tier wars on the hard map. If you're on a lower map, most defensive placement suggestions will be unhelpful.
