5* or 4* champ rank-ups

I have one 4* 5/50 and sixteen 4* 4/40 champs. I also have one 5* 3/45 and four 5* 2/35 champs. Should I stop ranking up 4*'s and concentrate on the 5*'s?

Probably depends on who the 4* and 5* champs are.

For sure don't do more 4/40 unless it's going to be an 5/50 and in general yes skip 4s altogether for 5s
