Can't Block out of Pause Screen Anymore?

Fairly recent phenomenon I'm encountering. But, if I ever had to pause the game, I could hold my thumb down on the screen and I would start the fight blocking again. Now, holding my thumb there doesn't work anymore when you resume the game. Instead, if you were blocking on pause, your champion has now dropped block... equates to some quality face punching, of your face.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Was there official communication on this?

I would not have expected that your player state just before pressing pause would continue in that state once you resume.
What if you had been “charging heavy” (right press/hold) ? Would your champ proceed to execute their Heavy ? (I don’t know, never tried).

Or conversely, what if you hold left press (block) while then releasing the pause (while still holding left side) ? Don’t know if 2-location press would allow you to start off blocking, but if so that would be useful.

But really, when resuming from pause, you should have to start from a neutral state.

Similarly, when doing a quest on AUTO-PLAY, and game crashes. When resume, there is the Crash Recovery pop-up to CONTINUE that fight (restart the fight). When I do that, I often times forget you have to TURN AUTO-PLAY ON AGAIN.
I come back later expecting the quest to be finished, but no, I’m staring at KO champ(s).

Game after a crash should remember that you had been doing Auto-Play, and Crash Recovery should resume back into Auto Play automatically.
