The Prowler: Hero or Villian?

My comic book knowledge is close to zero so I was surprised when reading prowlers description that he is tagged as a hero. Obviously in the spider verse movies he’s uncle Aaron and works for kingpin. But I’m curious, does anyone have more knowledge about the prowlers comic book origin? Is this a Hobie that never turned into spider-punk?

    Prowler started as a villain but recent 616 comic appearances paint him more as a hero who works with Spider-Man rather than against him.

    He's hero in the game cuz of the story when he and SP was introduced, Kabam said due to their close relationship with Marvel they were able to tweak it a bit for the game

    I find it fascinating on how they classify villains turned as heros in game.

    Prowler and emma for example, are classified as hero, whereas champs like ghost are still classified as villains.

    Black cat should also be villain but hey ho. Prowler from the miles morales comics is 100 percent a villain in my books, he always redeems himself then does something stupid to categorise himself as a villain again 🙄 😒 😑

    I'm pretty sure the ghost is mcu version, who became hero at the end

    Also red cyclops is a villain and nothing you can say can change that. He is literally canonically labelled a person who inspires terror iykyk
