What’s wrong with Spiral?

Hello. I’m confused. Why opponent can block Spiral’s first special attack in the middle?
She starts 1st SA, makes 2-3 punches, than enemy pairs and 1st SA makes no sense.
What is that?

You have to throw the sp1 from an attack that is not your last medium. I typically just parry, LML-sp1.

It is very annoying, especially when I was using her in Necro
