Getting thronebreaker after event starts

I won’t be able to rank up my alt to thronebreaker till after event starts. If you become thronebreaker in the middle of the event will you be able to purchase SGB once you advance your progression?

    Yes, you should have access to the superior crystals after you've reached TB.
