Spiral..... sp1 glitch?

when I throw spirals sp1, the opponent even tho stunned automatically starts to block mid sp1, is this supposed to happen or is it a glitch?

It's a bug. Don't throw sp1 unless the enemy is against the wall. They won't block it there
