Let’s talk about sentry…

For those that are like me…I pulled sentry from the box. So people hated his ramp up before and now the ramp up seems even worse. Now, once he’s ramped he seems pretty decent. But, unduped, where is he going to be most useful? Incursions monster? Necro? I’m having a hard time seeing where his “buff” is going to come into play. If he’s going to be useful in necro unduped then that is PHENOMENAL. But, if not it’s seeming like this is just the cherry on top for me for an even worse banquet event in addition to all the other negative things I have to say about it

I got him, he seems good ramped but there are better options for incursions and necro. Will be trying him out in incursions tho

My first thought when I saw 6+ charges was incursions. Would really like if they retuned him a little bit…yes already…to be useful for necro - especially the new challenges. But I’m excited to see if he actually performs well in incursions. Don’t know when I’ll be able to get the dupe on him though

This is a clear repeat of Deadpool XForce buff a couple years back that didn't do anything and they had to "retune" again to finally make him worth bothering to rank up and use.

So we will probably see him retuned in 1.5-2.5 years and then we can use him. Until then, bench warmer for the power of a million suns again.

I can't believe Kabam made a hero just for incursions, total dog buff,

Plus he also has that awkward heavy animation? Where after last hit he pushes himself off further? Idk why there can't be new animations like Ironman buff.
Just lazy.

Agreed. I thought north star was kind of the new dedicated incursions superstar with his buff coming up or tune up or whatever it is at this point. I think the mark was kind of missed since to get the charges you have to win fights correct? You’d already be halfway or done with the path by the time he was ramped in necro

He only loses one charge on death right? So it should be possible to ramp up several charges by cycling modes during a long fight even if you eventually die. Not sure how much you’d get in early Necro fights though.

Idk why you’re bringing up the “only gains warps by winning fights” again, he also gains warps by cycling his forms, this has been said. Even if you die, you can still fairly easily come out warp positive despite having lost one warp. It took me three fights in Necro to hit 10 reality warps, it’s a slow ramp up but it’s not remotely impossible like you’re suggesting, it’s just like Aegon where you may need multiple fights to hit max ramp.

Also speaking from experience, the heavy animation is not awkward at all. I assume you’re bringing up the pushback because you think he can’t heavy chain in the corner. He absolutely can, he moves forward a deceptive amount on the first hit. I heavy spammed in the corner a lot in my Jubilee and Diablo fights to get off some damage.

Sentry probably just needs a bit more juice to his damage and some extra duration on his effects to make the upkeep a bit more stable. His damage is very good once ramped, but from my experience it wasn’t enough for solos which he should absolutely be able to do. Maybe the higher timer of the 7* plus the critical damage rating stat focus will make solos possible, but imo he should be able to do that even with a maxed 6* like I used. The utility is great, which is why I was able to cover some important fights with him, he just needs his damage to be incredible rather than good enough.
