Heimdall is clearly modded beyond the nodes

Nowhere in the nodes does it say he favors heavy attacks correct? Then why the absolute *#<= is he dropping them time after time after time when I'm not even blocking. This is absolutely an absurd unit grab. Or am I missing a node? Special attacks 1 and 2? Sure. But he isn't even dropping them. Just constant heavy attacks

It makes the fight a bit easier imo. Imagine u tryna bait heavies and u dashing back but u getting disorient so ur block prof is reduced to ashes and he won't throw heavies. That being said, it should have been in the nodes as heavy bias. Not a problem in my opinion tho

Yeah, it’s because he locks in his buffs with his heavy. Champs with heavy attacks that are big parts of their kit tend to have AIs that spam it like crazy.

The original point stands that his behavior is not analogous to his counterparts elsewhere and that the nodes don’t indicate why that would be the case

Kabam doesn't change AI but AI controls them, they will takeover Kabam HQ.

The answer to OP is the less hyperbolic version of this: EOP defenders should be thought of as unique versions of the characters. They will be tuned to behave in ways that interact well with the nodes and that won’t necessarily be the same as they behave in other game modes

Im going to challenge you directly to find an example of heimdall doing these four things outside of EOP:

1) Cancelling his dash into a heavy
2) Attempting a heavy attack during a standing intercept
3) Attempting a heavy during a heavy chain in the corner
4) Attempting to heavy during block pressure

This heimdall is obviously not 1:1 with the standard one. Thats to be expected because its EOP. They NEED to be tuned for node interaction purposes, but the answer to “why is this heimdall different” isnt “all heimdalls do that”

I don't recall reading any notes on the matter there. It would make sense but it's extremely infuriating to take a champ. Jack up their stats. Add a bunch of difficult nodes. And then mod them to throw heavies from HALFWAY across the screen. I know ai is a constant battle with the game but come on. It's a challenging and fun fight with all the nodes as is. The ai modification just makes it's rng based and completely bogus. And if that's what they (the developers) are going to do. Then just add it to the nodes instead of making it a 'hidden' node.

There are lots of champions that have different AI profiles than normal. For example, Venom, Carnage, and Sabretooth have more aggressive AI. Hyperion is more likely to throw special attacks due to his potent power gain. Both Sabretooth and Killmonger love to throw their SP1 and SP2 respectively when you’re really far away from them, as opposed to right next to them. And maybe this is a tinfoil hat theory, but I swear Captain America blocks more than normal champions do

There’s also the fact that the AI knows whether or not a hit is going to land. Heimdall’s heavy attack has a lot of reach, which is part of why he throws it so often. After you dex his dash attack, Venom will oftentimes throw a second medium attack because he has the reach for it. There are a few other champions that do this too but I can’t remember them off of the top of my head. I’m fairly certain CMM is one of them…

It's a hope and dream of many in the past decade. The least they could have done after acknowledging how awful the crystals were would to just duplicate the number of crystals opened for every player. It would have given the 3% a larger gap over ftp but the middle percentage of players wouldn't see a huge difference. Also I'd argue that whale or no. Skill and rng puts us all on pretty even playing fields. But that's a conversation for another post.

Also. Per heimdall. It is bogus. I don't agree with the 'tactic' of hidden modifiers. But I will say a solo is super possible and not overly difficult. You just need to ignore the nodes completely, bait sp1s from a distance, slow play the heavy spams (evading) and spam L3s until he is dead. It's just annoying because I doubt that's how they envisioned the fight going.

He is tweaked like America Chavez who favors heavy .. it's a tweak not a mod.. agree he throws heavy a lot and back to back at times . He even chains Sp1 after his heavy.. very smart AI

Have you not faced heimdall before in the early variants with extra power gain. I still remember those painful fights when he just use to heavy spam and hold sp1. He was a defender who always had some kind of node with extra power gain.

This fight is manageable due the node sp1/sp2 bias. I'm 100% sure he was pain in the bottom testing this fight without the special bias.

It’s really not that bad of a fight, you just need to take the time to learn it. I’m no YouTuber and I soloed all four objectives without boosts or recoils or anything like that. Honestly, once you’ve learned it, this might be the easiest fight of the season.
