It couldn’t be like Sentinel’s SP3? But instead of a new one appearing, the Collector arrives with a crystal from which a new X-ceptional emerges.
The Special 3 attack instantly KOs the opponent regardless of their health. This cannot be prevented by any means.
But using this attack also inflicts 100% of X-ceptional’s max health as direct damage which cannot be reduced
Honestly, this is the best way I can see to still make him useful along with synergies that benefits his teammates when he's dead or alive. I can see myself using him against a certain annoying defender in necro. He will no doubt be banned from working against bosses, though
1. Make him a mostly wet noodle with a single persistent charge, and gate his sp3 behind the persistent charge. 2. Sp3 kills him instantly and deals damage (and applies persistent buffs/debuffs) based on his combo meter when his sp3 was activated.... For example, on sp3 activation he gains a stacking X% prowess for each hit on his combo meter.
Combo meter perks on sp3 (stacking): 50+ persistent weakness on the opponent 75+ next attacker gains a persistent steadfast passive 100+ persistent armor shattered on opponent 150+ next attacker gains a strong persistent prowess
And so on...
I think it'd be cool to stack it enough to be valuable but gate it behind a ton of work. It'll never happen, but it's cool to think about.

I think that those specific benefits you get aren't worth the effort, honestly, but I still like the combo count ramp idea. I can see sp1s and 2s giving focus to raising his combo meter significantly compared to when just doing basics
Can't krakoa reboot him? Or was this before krakoa? Such a sad power if it was before krakoa, even during
Looked him up and he's before Krakoa and doesn't exist in the main 616 continuity
Yes he does exist. He was brought back to life during Krakoan Era, there was a special book that kinda told his story. Wanda tries to bring back all the mutants killed during the Genosha attack, but the spell fails and they all come back as zombies, plus, the earth is being attack by the Cotati (plant-like beings from space) which starts to take control of the zombies. The X-men go to the island to fight them, and discover the boy was brought back as a zombie as well, but he has consciousness and both versions talk and at the end they unite and explode together, taking a bunch of zombies with them

He fights in a robot suit in that run, it's a great run if you haven't read it
Huh, that explains it then. Still weird how they let him become a member despite having a useless power unless he's just THAT good with his robot because they're better off giving it to someone more skilled at using it

If you haven't read the run then i don't know what you expect to understand lmao. He was part of a very small x team of weird mutants that mostly engaged in very small conflicts and rescue missions. He wasn't great at fighting but the story was more focused on the character

I have more questions, but I'll just read first and then ask later if there are still left or if I get new ones after reading
