They stopped it because players were ascending 4* and they don't want players to do that. That's the only logical reason I can deduce.

Right? It feels like nowadays I'm literally never even opening 3, 4, or 5* hero crystals. They're certainly not going to break the game for me as a valiant player, but I do like the extra ISO. C''mon, give us more resources.
What’s wrong with ascending 4 stars? What other star level would you ascend?
What’s wrong with ascending 4 stars? What other star level would you ascend? As someone above said, it cuts the time needed to complete arenaThere’s nothing “wrong” with that, but it isn’t convenient for kabam
You know, I really agree with this.Mainly because I simply do not understand why it is an issue if, in a world where the game is completely in the 7-star cycle, if anyone chooses to invest in characters who are eligible for Tier 1 dust.I am serious — I really would like to understand why anyone would care if someone wants to do that. Again, maybe someone could explain this to me for a Game Economy standpoint, because I honestly don’t understand. To me:1. This game is about choices. If someone wants to sink gold and dust into a 4-star or 5-star, is there some kind of harm to the game economy? If so, then what, exactly, is the harm to the game economy? Is there some of content that someone isn’t supposed to be able to do with a 5r5A Magik that they couldn’t do with a 6r3 Doctor Doom? 2. Isn’t a large part of the game that it’s the choice of how you spend your resources that defines our rosters, not the complete lack of availability of a resource that you might want to use on your roster? I understand that if someone wants to buy Tier 1 dust, they can. But why is that a resource that can’t be earned in-game, just because of your progression? Is there any other resource that is locked like this?I truly don’t understand it. I am not trying to be dense. If a higher-tier player wants to ascend a 5-star, what is the harm? Why would anyone care that people want to do this?

Why would anyone care that people want to do this? That is 100% my view on this whole issue. I know for a lot of summoners, it doesn't really matter too much, but It kind of bugs me that Kabam is steering things in a way that is encouraging everyone to not only all reach valiant quite quickly, but they seem to be pushing everyone to rank the same characters up, and to approach the game in a particular way.I feel like I have less autonomy to play the game the way i would like to, and for me, that's going to make things boring rather quickly. My request to get Tier 1 dust back to the game also applies to lower tier resources such as 5 star shards and sig stones and also lower cats that Kabam have decided to remove from the Battlegrounds store. I think ill stick with one thing for now, i don't expect Kabam to listen to just me, but if enough people want it, they might do something.
They also removed lower tier items from bg store They said it would be moved somewhere else but still no update
Isn't there another giant thread where people are complaining about the exact opposite issue, i.e., that the game doesn't account for the specific high-end needs of valiants and instead offers them the same rewards as lower progression players?

The thing that I just can’t work through to understanding is if a Paragon/Valiant player wants to ascend a 5-star for fun or testing, what it would possibly be doing to the game to hurt it — they are already into Act 8/9. They’re not using 5r5A to cheese anything that they don’t already have the roster to do, right? Am I crazy for looking at it like that?Same with the 5-star shards and Sig stones. I’m just speaking for myself, but I only rank 5-stars for fun. Just testing the kits. It’s not helping me to actually DO anything in the game to clear content. It was fun collecting a few of them and taking some to 5r5A Sig 200, but it wasn’t actually helping me to really do anything, with where I am in the game and who I am typically fighting in BGs, and I am not even at the highest levels of the game.I agree that playing the game the way you want to is really important, because yes, players should probably be interested in progression. But again, that loops right back to where you started: If you’re Paragon or Valiant, why does anyone care if you ascend a 5-star?It’s just a riddle that I can’t solve
Putting in my vote (as a Valiant) for: I'd love more T1 dust.Like others, it's primarily for testing out new champs as 5*s, although occasionally there's a champ I simply don't have at a higher rarity who is an absolute necessity for content like Summer of Pain/Autumn of Agony/Carina's challenges whatever. If there's a really restrictive #tag option, and the best option is someone I literally only have as a 5*, it would be really helpful to have more Tier 1 Dust.Case in point: Lagacy's challenge to defeat Kang specifically with a 5* Stark-enhanced Spidey. I mean it really doesn't get much more restrictive than that, right? Not to mention 5* trophy champs like Labtron and Punisher - I really like Punisher as a champion, so when I finally got him a month or so back, I was really glad I'd hoarded some dust for him.

Possibly, what that thread has to do with this one, however I’m not sure.

Possibly, what that thread has to do with this one, however I’m not sure. Well if you put the two opposite demands together, you get this: "As Valiants, we want all of the rewards that are offered to lower progression players, but also valuable high-end rewards that are not available to lower progression players. Basically, we want everything."
