Battlegrounds Season 25: What a Start!

So, I’m not usually one to complain about matchmaking, but wow... the start of Season 25 has been something else. :s I started the season in Diamond V, and I know how it goes - the first few days of the season are always crazy with top players grinding hard to progress.

In my first 5 matches, I went up against 4 Valiant accounts. Each of them had an average of 8 Rank 3 7-stars! (32 R3 7-stars across the 4 accounts.) Meanwhile, here I am, a Paragon player, rocking my 1 Rank 3 7* :D

I'm sure I'm not the only one dealing with crazy matchups like this. Anyway, good luck out there! Hope your climb is going smoother than mine. :)

Just play the 5 matches,..take the L’s and wait a week or so.
Or don’t even touch it for a while,..after banquet there is gonna more R3’s floating around.

I still managed to get 2 Ws in the first 5 matches despite the uneven matchups o:) I'm literally just going to do the Battlegrounds objectives every 2 days to get the extra trophy tokens, and then hit it hard in the last week. ;)

18 R3s and 42 R5s, but the first few days are always tough 🥵 5-2 in my favor the first day, and 1 promotion. Thats the goal btw, 1 promotion per 48 hours, and be in the GC by the end of week 2. Then play 1 fight and have 3 weeks off 🥳

If you don’t stress, and just chill when there is a bottleneck of «only R4/3s Valiant decks» around, you’ll have a better chance of having a good time 🙂

This will teach me to complain about matchmaking. :D Match 6 of Season 25… and I get put up against this lovely account with EIGHTEEN Rank 3 7*s. :#

You honestly never know with stacked decks. A lot of times they suck on offense and you just have to do decently to win.
Also, even without spending money, my R3 roster in the last few weeks has grown from like 4 to 10. I expect most BG players at this point to have mostly R3s and elite R5As. I expect that to be normal.
It's the most competitive format in the game, an arms race. You have to constantly keep improving your roster, or just play other formats instead.
