The days of "Don't buy premium hero crystal from units" still apply on these crystals. Nice to have but no chase. Now, there will be reason to buy some.

Well, to be honest this is something we asked for ages ago, but I think at the moment it s too outdated as a tactic, since we need 500% more units for all these special events dropping every few months than 5 years ago.

Hate the idea of pity systems. I get that it can be used by whales to acquire any champ that comes out so it surely enhances revenue and don't blame Kabam for this move, but I just have never liked the pity systems in games.

Will this be limited by Progression or for all progressions?

This test will be limited to certain crystals, with it being eventually applicable to all hero crystals?

I’m sure many people will shame it because it’s only a big leap for those who pay money for the crystals but it is still a leap nevertheless.

I look forward to some great 7- Star heroes and watching damnepicwhale crash your servers XD

I may have missed it on the stream, sorry - is there going to be a tracker that we can review?

The every five will probably be simple enough. Every thirty too, though that one may get tricky as it's not cumulative but resets with any 7*

The every 200 for the featured I imagine would be a nightmare to track without some aid.

Well if the results are that in side quest we will FINALLY get valiant crystals instead of those extremely outdated GM crystals. And we get at least 20 every month so we have a guaranteed 7*. Then it will be one of the best pro player moves in years.
If it's only on featured crystals in the store, it's yet again a only pro whale move. Who is stupid enough to pay 9.000 units for 1 7* and 60.000 units for a featured.

Yeah the shame doesn't come from them catering to p2w, it's just more of a reason to laugh at the joke that is "we don't want the gap between the mega whales and the rest of the community to widen." Decision after decision proves this untrue.

It’s difficult because this has been asked for for how long? And at what point is the threshold of praise vs frustration that it took so long.

I think this will only be relevant for whales. And I think yall know that. The gap has never been wider between whales and the average player. The average player isn’t dropping their units on featured valiant crystals. It’s a complete waste of units for someone like me who grinds them in arenas and waits for the sales to happen throughout the year. 3k units for 10 crystals is not something I’ll be purchasing, therefore this pity system is useless for me.

I think I’m airing on the side of this has taken too long to implement and that’s frustrating. I’d like to see this applied to standard valiant and paragon crystals. Then it would have use for the larger majority of the player base.

My last thought is that many other games have this system coded from day 1 of the games launch. It’s hidden somewhere that players can’t easily see but it’s a feature that’s standard. And to see this being paraded around like some new shiny toy when hundreds of infuriating bugs still exist in the game and aren’t being addressed is beyond frustration.

Outdated and out of touch, as usual with crystals and other game rewards.

But then with more & more people leaving the game (Due to things like unaddressed AI issues) they need to charge more to maintain the revenue stream.....

From what I understand it is a similar method to other games that 'guarantee' a rarity after so many crystals. If thats the case I'd hope it's locked to a.certain number of times. So Uber whales can't just spam crystals for infinite 7* champs. Like once a week or something. (Again if this is the plan my apologies)

U do know they have infinite 7s anyway this just helps chasing and like other games pity can continue going like for mff pity its when u open the 675 10 times u get that item then it restarts

Edited and removed comment: I believe that I misunderstood something about the change. I didn't pick up on that it says 6* "or better" and my comment was asking as if it's only a guaranteed 6* thus negating the 7* drop rate chance.

Wil this only be for 3 champs? Luke,Nova,Hood?

Will everyone start at 200 or how about those who opened past champs like gentle,proud or other crystals?

Or will it start with Arnim? If not what new champion ?

I’m saying because I’m sure people want the pity system for new champs.

I personally think 200…is WAY too much. $2,000 for garantee is crazy.

And spending $2000 and not getting the champion is also insane..

But is there logical or data that supports that made you guys decide on 200 crystals?!

First off, if you wanted this test to be successful, then you should've included more sought after champions. Luke cage is a good champ and definitely worth having, but the odds of desperately wanting that champ to the point of spending is pretty low. Even more so for Hood and Nova. So the test is already off to a bad start because of the poor selection of featured champs.

Now, questions concerning the Pity system:
1. Will Paragon and Valiant featured crystals share the same pity counter? As in if 29 Valiant featured crystals were opened, and the next one was a Paragon featured crystal, would that count toward pity as the 30th crystal and guarantee a 7 star champion? Or will Paragon and Valiant crystals have their own pity counter?

2. Are the early release bundles bought from the webstore included in the pity counter? You can get both paragon and valiant crystals from the webstore which is why I specifically mentioned the webstore in my question, but the overall concern is if the featured crystals from the early release bundles will count toward pity.

From the reveal, there is a question of why not introduce the new crystals with the new side quest/event? the events give less than 10 for fully exploring the quests and then having a mostly guaranteed option would be more helpful in the crystals.
Also as highlighted by others to get the guaranteed featured champion you have to open 200 crystals? why that number specifically and for an alternative suggestion why not have the guaranteed crystals then be >6* champions guaranteed.

SQ gives cav crystals, not paragon or certainly not valiant. Who would buy dozens or hundreds of cav crystals?

Having it be the crystal tab that pops up every time is, for lack of a better term, absolutely horrible. Please move it to a tab I don't have to constantly see.

Already done an accidental purchase of 10 crystals. It’s way too easy to accidentally purchase them.

Ticket logged with Kabam Support… really hope they can refund those hard grinded 3000 units as the crystals are still sat in my account and unopened!
