Ares points to the future of everest boss design

    Revive fest essentially

MSD solo'd Ares with 7R3 sig 200 Serpent, no revives needed.
The difference of skill level between a player like MSD and an average player is night and day. But it does indicate that flawless play can get you through the fight without a single unit spent. And I also won't complain that the other option is to just sink revive after revive to get it done. I'm glad that there is an expensive option to at least finish the fight if you can't play like a God. Imagine if the only way to ramp the damage was through his specials. Me and many other like me wouldn't even dare to get a single completion.
Hey, you're not allow to have reasonable nuanced takes on this game. Shame on you!

First of all, thank you for the tip @willrun4adonut, I did my initial completion using it. Went in with Hulk, Silk and Jack. Picked the Hulkling path.

48 revives on Ares, some will say not too bad and I should go back at it and explore. Answer: Hell No.

Like you I'm growing tired of the game within the game within the game. Bosses having mini-games (stages) fine, but GM and Now Ares with their mini-games during the fight, didn't like it with GM, hate it even more with Ares... this is getting out of control. To be clear, it will get worse. Ares having no persistant visual reminder just make it stupid, like you I just ignored everything and smash it with Hulk. How it could worse, they will throw in reverse control later (and again prevent us from using reverse control immune champs).

Every time I see comment in streams or here about "pausing" the game... euhhh why in the hell Kabam didn't do that in the animation, flash the weapon, pause (so we can actually see the dam thing) and then show me the prompt to do (if they can do it with Spider punk special, they can do it here) and then remove the prompt for the final phase (keep the pause). No, take it the face.

I like watching normal people doing it (meaning not MSD). Maex was able to complete the SP prompts twice!!! 2 times!! This is not what I call fun, it is brutal and stupid. Maex is no slouch, he is a good player.

Some will say, this content is needed to keep the top player engage, nah, I don't buy it. Except MSD and a few others that get giggly for this type of content, very few of us actually enjoy it, it's a chore.

One of my buddy, like me, has been playing this game for 10 years, after his 4th run... he had it...and just quit the game. And he is not the only one.

    Me? I'm on the fence...

Kabam prefer to throw this kind of content at us while we all told them Crucible was THE best event in years!!! Minimal effort on their side.

Was that Maex’s first attempt? Because a lot of the YouTubers who struggled with Ares found subsequent attempts to be much easier. It isn’t a matter of Ares being too hard, it’s a matter of inexperience with the fight.

So if Steph Curry can make 10 three pointers with his eyes closed, everybody else in the league should be able to?

    Think before you spew nonsense.
No, but who tf is requiring everybody to solo Ares like MSD did? MSD is just proving that the challenge is fair by soloing it. Everyone else just has to do less than half as good as he did.

Back to the analogy, If Steph can make 10 3 pointers with his eyes closed, it’s reasonable that others in the league could make 3 with their eyes open.

All I see is YouTubers taking post it (next item in the unit store, post it pads). Trying to nail the mini game, getting hit in the face mid sequence, rince repeat. And when they get one, well they get it in the face on the next one.

But hey, build your muscles memory…

The fact Kabam build a way out, they knew the fight was stupid. So, you have a choice, you build your stack of revive, units or your muscles memory

I did the the debuff run with Howard, silk and Hulk.

I decided that this will be my last write-up ever as I can offer no valuable insight that others can't give. Everyone was a solo except Adam Warlock, whom I had to use about fifteen revives on as I thought his heavy could take off several health points, but it's too short and only does a single 2%.

For Ares, if you can NOT do his special attack, you can brute force him down with a 7r3 hulk with 24 revives to the 1 HP phase. (I didn't Dex a single special and always got KO'd). And that's all I can share.

Also, if future bosses are like this, I may actually be done playing. I just can't memorize and react fast enough with the split second to decide which action to do. However, I do think the fight is very well done and enjoyable, just not for me. And since I have to 100% everything, it may be time to walk away if the next bosses are geared like Ares.

same lol. But i used photon. Fumbled around 20+ revs on him
41 was my total count for him. It was nice that you get the cross-fight furies as I could then just add them up between Hulk and Silk to see how many times I died.
at some points i didn't get 1 charges for being died i believe. If i get it right, after 10 deaths (10 charges), every 2 deaths give me 1 more charge. IDK if it was bugged or intended, but after a few times bypassing 10 deaths, i took a note about it.
You have to use 1 champ. The charges don't care over to another champ.
