The first 3 path for me was horrible I getting older so harder to learn but the 4 run i managed most of the sp just couldnβt do the phess 3 mechanics thatβs well enough but i just backed of
Nope, badly design, they knew it should have a visual help (they even mentioned it in the stream), the constant flashing of the weapon is of no help... you have the node, the phases (with their own mini games) and the special mini games...weapon flashing, information overload... E N O U G H!!
Voted no, but actually I do find it fun. Ares fight design aside, I think these kind of gauntlet runs enjoyable. As for Ares, potential for a fun fight is there, but imo, the flaws of the fight outweigh the fun. Apparently, the last phase is bugged which adds on the rest of the shenanigans

Did they actually say that in the stream?
I only remember the designer mentioning there wouldn't be anything on the hud
Beaten him 5 times already and there was never a point where I thought he was fun. Even though he gets easier each time you fight him, there is nothing fun about him. Lol

Yup, they said they thought about it and decided to not do itβ¦
Interesting, thanks to all of you who took the time to share your opinions on this poll.
I personally see Epoch as a whole: 6 Paths and 6 Boss fights. However I understand if some of you feel the need to see Paths and Boss fights as two separate things.
I know difficulty level and rewards play a huge factor in our opinions... feeling we have accomplished or failed something, rewards being worth our time and effort or not... However, I've been recently asking myself this question: If I leave those aspects aside, would I still play this type of content because it's fun?
For me the answer is no. Glad to see some of you are actually enjoying Epoch, good luck on your runs everyone! πͺπ»
I disagree with you poll. I wouldn't call Epoch of Pain "longform content."
6 fights + Boss is same length is normal questing. Fights themselves take a little longer, but not drastically so.
Heck, it is more like a souped up version of SoS/AoA/WoW gauntlet, and no one calls that longform content.
I respect your point of view bro.
I honestly don't have the will to do any fight that takes more than 3min long, I get bored easily as it becomes repetitive and tedious. This said, Epoch is easily long form content from my perspective.
Letβs be honestβ¦.the rewards are carrying Epoch. This might seem like a dumb statement but if the rewards werenβt leagues above what weβve ever seen this quest would be the most hated thing ever.
Mine was a bit of a revive-fest (19 in total). This is my first actual long form content ever (excluding LoL and RoL), so it was definitely new to me.
I had fought some of the fights previously too, so i had some mechanics memorised.' Though i ended up using LOOOT of revives, ares was a genuinely fun boss. After the first 10? or so revives? i got the hand of his specials, and ended up finsihing the fights, from phase 3 of his onwards.

Path fights are ass, heard Kebem doubled the HP of path fights from usual. π
Why? Aren't they confident in their hard boss Ares?
