What's the deal with new stages?

Last time we got a new stage was Hassenstadt back in 2023, before that was the Danger Room or a Mutant bridge thing in 2020?

What happened to new stages and how does the game go about them since 3 years per stage is a bit weird imo?

At times it just gets a bit boring looking at the same ares constantly in the same times of day and stuff.

Maybe whilst waiting on full stages you just change up some to be daylight like Avengers Tower?

They've only added about 4 since the game began; Haasenstat, the Galactorum, Krakoa/Danger Room and the Muspelheim one. New stages are not a priority.

Apparently the fighting arenas take up a lot of resources to create, and will end up inflating the game's install size. They keep doing stuff to keep that number low (like removing models for the catalysts) so makes sense stages aren't really a priority. I feel like a new stage might happen for something big, like act 9 finale

That’s also something I always had in mind. I see the aspect of resource allocation but hell, this game is 10 years old. Some aspects of the game never developed over time

One of my biggest issues with the game has always been the age that it has consistently left alone for years.

However with the redesigns and reworks of characters we've seen in recent years they're defo changing that up *finally* and with this update they seem to be going at a wild pace with Bastion, Jean and a Reworked Cyclops dropping all in one month with the Phoenix rework incoming in like a month or two?
