Is this word choice supposed to be a reference to her VA?

    A person who always thinks

But don't lie, it feels too much of a coincidence for it not to be intentional.

Hale and hearty is just a saying. But it could have been intentionally chosen to be used here as a neat nod

Oh, ok. I still can't see it not being intentional.

“Hale and Hearty” == “Healthy and Strong”

I admit I have never heard that saying before. Is it more commonly used in Canada ?

And one of the first definitions of Hale being “free from infirmity”, which, of course, why not include a definition that is 2 words longer than it needs to be, that nobody uses that phrase in everyday conversation either, instead of just saying a single word “healthy”.
