The problem and some potential solutions to the monthly event and side quests

with all the issues playere are having with the game at the moment i wanted to just add my thoughts as an end game player who has beening playing now for 10 years and some suggestion on how some of them maybe solved. im starting with the monthly event and side quests
For an endgame player, the monthly event quest falls short in all three key areas:
Difficulty
The event quest offers no real challenge. With a well-developed roster, I could complete it blindfolded and with one hand tied behind my back, without using a single resource. It’s clear this content isn’t designed with endgame players in mind.
Rewards
The event quest’s rewards don’t cater to endgame players. While the Gauntlet rewards were great when first introduced, the time investment required to earn them now feels excessive. My time would be better spent elsewhere.
Time Investment
Having to fully explore the monthly event quest just to access the Gauntlet feels like an unnecessary obstacle. It drags out the process and gets in the way of the only part of the event quest that is actually enjoyable and somewhat rewarding.
The Gauntlet
The Gauntlet itself is a decent challenge with solid rewards for the time invested. The addition of a saga-specific challenge each month keeps it engaging, as it encourages players to strategize and use champions they might not typically rely on. This adds value to having a diverse roster and gives players the opportunity to use champions they enjoy but don’t often get to play with.
Overall Thoughts
There’s a disconnect between time spent and rewards earned. I, and likely many other players, don’t view the event quest as part of the effort required to earn Gauntlet rewards. Instead, it feels like a tedious prerequisite—more of a chore than an engaging experience.
The Monthly Side Quest
Difficulty
The challenge level varies wildly. Some months, it’s as simple as beating a few fights, while other times, I need to watch guides repeatedly just to understand what’s going on.
Rewards
The rewards are actually quite good, but they’re spread across multiple outlets every month. These include:
• A store
• The quest itself (sometimes more than one)
• An event tracker (sometimes more than one)
• Challenges
Because the rewards are so diluted across these different sources, they feel underwhelming when looked at individually.
Time Investment
The time required to complete the side quest depends heavily on how intuitive it is. Some months, it’s straightforward; other months, I need to spend 20 minutes watching a video before each run or asking my alliance for clarification.
Overall Thoughts & Suggestions
I have two main suggestions to improve the side quest experience:
1. Simplify the Event Structure
Creating a brand-new side quest every month isn’t necessary. In the effort to keep things fresh, the designs have become overly complicated. Instead, I suggest developing 4–6 solid side quests (or reusing past ones) and rotating them every few months. Minor twists—like requiring saga/event champions or adding unique global nodes—can keep them interesting without reinventing the wheel. It’s important to remember that this is just a side quest; repetition is fine.
2. Condense Reward Outlets
Many months, challenges only provide featured shards, while the event tracker (which does offer solid rewards) often just requires arbitrary fights we’re going to do anyway. These could be folded directly into quest rewards.
The store and Mysterium feel unengaging. I don’t feel any excitement when earning or spending it. While the store has potential as a way for players to choose their rewards, it has grown stale since its introduction. Some form of variation each month could help keep it fresh, though I’m not sure what that would look like.
