New currency - Radiance - will it allow exchange from other currencies?

Hello!

A simple question:
Radiance - Will it allow exchanges from other currencies?

For instance, I have a lot of battle chips: can I exchange them for radiance?
The same for loyalty or mysterium or glory.

Will we be able to access that one perfect store by exchanging old currencies for radiance?

I doubt it, especially with battlechips and loyalty having infinite hoarding potential. Is it possible radiance replaces those currencies in the future, yeah. I don't imagine people would like losing their one source of infinite units in the game though.

There's various options; and Kabam may not have the perfect answer yet - it's a tricky thing to balance, so they may not have fully decided yet.

Radiance could sit alongside existing currencies; with shuffling of particular resources from one store to another.
- This would be rather pointless, and clearly isn't what's intended.

Radiance could be introduced, and all other currencies could cease to be traded immediately. Trading currencies into Radiance would have to be possible to prevent uproar, but would still need to be limited in scope, as @Pikolu suggests.
- Probably a pretty unpopular option that would disturb the game economy a bit too abruptly, and cause a lot of unhappiness.

Radiance could be introduced, replacing some/all other currencies as a reward, but with stores for those currencies remaining open for a limited time (say, the length of a Saga...). Trading could be allowed, or it might not be. If it is permitted, conversion to Radiance may be limited in scope, possibly with worsening exchange rates as the store deadline approaches, or using the same cost-escalation mechanic as the Glory store.
- Potentially workable; and if the timelines aren't too short, would mitigate the impact on boarders without giving them access to unlimited Radiance.

I am very curious about the answer to this question. What will happen to the other units we have? I think they should be exchanged.

If they're intruding yet ANOTHER new currency, they sure as all heck better know exactly what they're doing and where they're going with it by now.

This is part of the problem they've had in the past - like introducing Mysterium and then having it completely stagnate immediately.

The goal isn't to be a new currency, but to consolidate currencies in competitive modes. They talked about it in the BG post Crashed made awhile ago now.

I'm pretty sure the main idea is that 1 store is a whole lot easier to update and keep current than 4 stores.

It seems to me that they are combining several currencies into one: Mysterium, Glory, Trophy Tokens and maybe more like Loyalty and Incursion artifacts. Then combining stores also. I think it's a good idea and hope they execute it properly. I have a feeling they are going to release something underwhelming and people will complain for a month though.

Radiance is not an initiative to combine currencies, it's an initiative to align ranked rewards in competitive modes. The Radiance store will be the most premium store in the game, you definitely won't be able to convert existing currencies into Radiance.

Because the store is premium, it means there will be less access to lower level catalysts and materials for some players in AW and AQ because currently those ranked rewards include a bunch of lower level stuff. So we will likely allow the conversion of Radiance into a lower currency.

If the Radiance project goes well, and players like it, we are talking about combining a bunch of the other currencies into one as well, but we will see how Radiance goes first.

They specifically said that it is a new COMPETITIVE currency. so non competitive currencies will remain, and stuff like trophy tokens and loyalty shatter will probably be phased out.

I’m sorry but that really disappoints me. The game is bloated and part of the reason you are struggling to maintain the stores is because you have too many currencies. I was really hoping that radiance was going to be the step in eliminating currencies and allow you guys to actually manage your game. But no, it is just another currency like mysterium that will look good to great when it launches and out of date in six months with no plans to make changes.

BGs metas change every month, and as some have pointed out before there are many ways they could make the game mode more fun such as adding different modes within the game mode itself. The same can't be said about arena, from the moment it was released it was destined to just become ridiculously stale at some point.

I dont want them to mess with currencies that much. They changed the Sigil ones and the change is awful, and we are talking about a paid feature.
