New war format is great, and I hope it stays

I haven't done war in like 2 years until this change. The new map is smaller, so it's quicker to complete. Being able to teleport anywhere is amazing in a smaller alliance like ours where some people don't play war. In the previous map, I could only finish 1 path and then the rest is unexplored, and now being able to explore a whole map is way better. The force nodes are really fun. It doesn't seem like anything is impossible. Are there difficult matchups? Of course. But it all seems doable. Whereas before some of the nodes and champ combos seemed impossible if you don't bring the right counter. I prefer the force nodes like the root one to the nullify ones because any champ can do it, but at least there's way more of the root type ones than the ones you need a specific champ ability and I think that's awesome and makes war more accessible. Plus the new force nodes allow for big yellow numbers and that's always fun. It feels rewarding killing the enemies in this new war.

I know a lot of people don't like the new setup and would like to hear why though. What do you guys like or dislike about it? What would you change or keep?

    I also like the new format (after initially hating it) for the reasons hurricant described.

    I know this probably won't happen but perhaps there can be two kinds of maps? The previous map for full, very active alliances and the current map for smaller alliances who aren't quite as active anymore but still want to participate.

    100% agree, I do wish we had 2-3 defenders per person instead of 1 but with smaller hps, but this is still way better than old AW. Old one used to be extremelytime consuming and required a ton of investment, more than BGs or AQ ever have. My alliance stopped doing wars two years ago because of how time consuming the game mode was but now we're 100% back and about to hit Plat again which we hadn't done since we quit two years ago.

    Also this is just straight up satisfying I mean come on

    Needs to be a ban list for particular nodes. There shouldn’t be any node/champ combo that makes it impossible to gain charges.

    I'm loving this new aw sm im spending units to fight more idc if im doing too much the fights are so fun and i hope they'll keep them like this

    There seriously needs to be a backup though, I have a guy that isn't available on vacation and we're gonna lose wars because of it.

    At higher levels AW, there are 10 paths and every player can only take 1 path, you can't explore the whole map by yourself, that's lower level AW

    Interesting, I wasn't aware of that.

    I love the new AW, as somebody who has a busy life I only need ten minutes max for it. Before it was so much longer due to waiting on energy. This is such a good change. But seeing multiple Serpents and Bullseyes shouldn’t be allowed, make diversity even more important please.

    New Wars
    + Simple and Time Saving

    But i prefer old Wars System

    Reasons
    * Not a team game anymore ( Literally no planning or discussion required if Ally following fixed nodes per member )

    * Waste of Rankups ( There are players who have tons of rank4 champs all those rankups going waste regarding wars as u can't place more than 1)

    * Too repetitive ( This new war system remove the fun aspect , old wars are about finding new matchups and interaction on different nodes & paths but with this change we literally seeing all same 10 defenders )

    * No work of Leadership ( Old wars system the officers and leader have to use their experience in placements of defenders but new system eliminate these duties of Officers)

    * Not Suicide Friendly ( If someone running suicide masteries setup this new map encourage them to shut those down as these fights are long and require to use ur spcls on most nodes usually which result in hurting from recoils and make fight more risky if messing up . Old wars system was suicide friendly as helathpools was shorter and player can make the minimum recoils dmg and could finish the champs much faster )

    * Will become Boring as more seasons pass ( Currently the new wars map is fresh for everyone so it's getting enjoyable regarding new matchups but as time goes up the player base will start to feel bored as fighting same defenders literally for most upcoming seasons )

    My thoughts are that this new war map should be implemented to lower war tiers while old map should return to High & atleast mid war tiers 🙏
    Or other Suggestion
    Make this map as seperate war mode like raids for AQ maybe we can play this map off season or one in quarter or something

    I agree with that but kabam has made these defenders so OP that it makes more sense to put 10 serpents and lose on diversity than put 10 different defenders and have them all die without as many kills as the 10 serpents would get

    Not only is serpent a pretty mediocre defender on most nodes but also the sheer loss in defender diversity points would prevent the ally from reaching higher tiers. There are no duplicate defenders in tier 4, 3, 2, and 1 wars. I can tell you that.

    There’s pros and cons to both formats. Obviously, people who are invested in the old format are gonna be mad about the new format, and people who thought the old format was tedious was love the new format.

    I think the best things to do going forward is to create a Raid vs AQ type distinction. Kabam will have to tinker with what the rewards are and also find a way to ensure enough participation, but allowing an Alliance to chose whether to spend a week/season doing the old format or the new format.

    It's not though, idk what level of war you play but when you get higher you can only take 1 fight per war.

    If an ally is dying 120 times to a serpent then they should stay in low tier wars.

    No not at higher tiers. Everyone can only take 1 fight

    Any death after the first 10 is of no consequence. 11 and 120 deaths for same defender give you the exact same number of points.

    I personally don’t like it and everyone I know who plays war at the top doesn’t like it either. For me the camaraderie isn’t there, used to be about teamwork to clear a map. Instead everyone just gets 1 fight with no back up. Also 1 fight just isn’t enough. War is at its best when you can take 6+ fights. It actually feels fulfilling to get a big workload and to actually earn a MVP. I don’t know how they decide who gets it now.

    This is already boring and I cold heartedly disagree about champ node restrictions. Some of these nodes/placements make it to where there is only 1 or 2 champs that can work. Particularly on node 1 and 3. When they implement a ban system I wonder what kind of experience you will have then. I can already foresee major headaches and people making threads of how impossible some of these fights are.
