Feedback on Account Bans and Player Communication - A Call for a Warning System

To Whom It May Concern,

I'm writing to share some thoughts on the recent wave of account bans in Marvel Contest of Champions and the way these situations are handled. It's been widely discussed that a significant number of players, reportedly in the thousands, have been banned for alleged cheating.

If Kabam truly believes such a large portion of the player base has cheated, I strongly suggest implementing a warning system. You already send countless in-game messages for offers and events; it seems perfectly feasible to send a direct message to players who are flagged for suspicious activity. This "warning zone" notification would give players a chance to understand what behavior is deemed unacceptable and correct it before facing a permanent ban. It also prevents the surprise and frustration of an immediate ban, especially for those who might be unaware they're violating terms.

The current approach of widespread, permanent bans without prior notice is incredibly disheartening. Players invest countless hours, resources, units, and even revives into building their accounts and tackling new content. Seeing these efforts erased instantly, especially when it appears other known cheaters continue to play, feels incredibly unfair. For example, some players are completing new, challenging content with surprising speed, which further highlights the need for consistent and transparent enforcement.

Giving players a chance to amend their behavior, coupled with improved detection methods, would be a more balanced and fair approach. This isn't just about punishment; it's about fostering a healthy game environment and respecting the time and dedication players put into the game.

This is just a humble thought from a concerned player who believes in fair play and a better experience for everyone.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Player

Yes, most players didn't know why they were banned at the beginning, and this massive ban could have been avoided by sending an email notification and giving these players a certain amount of time to correct.
